Far Too Long

I follow a bunch of different blogs and I get mad when people don't post regularly but then I don't post regularly either. I always think that nothing is going on but then when I think back we've had some busy times!

I am still working as an MA at an OB/GYN office and it's so much fun! I work under Dr. Young and Ariel and I are his MA's. We room and scribe for him. We get along great and work well together! I am learning new things every day.

Bryce is still managing the Fly Shop and had lots of guide trips this summer! He is still in school and is working hard to hurry and finish! Check out his Instagram for fishing pictures (@brycejclark)

In June, I drove down to San Diego to hang out with my sisters while my mom was in Hawaii. We layed out by the pool everyday, made random videos and took pictures to send to my mom so she wouldn't miss us or the dog too much. Riley and I also went to Sea World and the beach! I haven't been to the beach since I lived in Virginia!

In July, Taylor went to the MTC for her mission to Brazil! She doesn't have her visa yet so she is currently serving in Ohio! We went and ate at Brick Oven and then dropped her off at the MTC!

After my drive down to San Diego, Riley drove up with me and stayed for 2 weeks before the rest of the family came up! We went to Stadium of Fire-Carly Rae Jepsen and Kelly Clarkson performed. Once my family came, me, my mom and Maycen drove to Rexburg to get Kaylie! We spent our summer days shopping at Hobby Lobby, Quilted Bear and the mall. We ate lots of Kneaders french toast, cafe rio and went to Seven Peaks! My aunt and uncle also took us on the lake!

Family Pictures!

In August, Kyle got his mission call to Ecuador! He left August 28, 2013 to the Mexico MTC. He is currently in Ecuador and working hard. His emails are fun to read!

Other fun evens that happened during the summer was my friend Chelsey went through the temple! We work together and I do her job on Wednesdays. We have a lot in common and get along great! We're now best friends but couldn't tell from this picture because we are standing so far apart!

Me and Chelsey!
Chelsey also has the cutest little boy ever, Owen! We went to the park one day and went down the slide!

Bryce and I went to a BYU basketball game and were on the kiss cam! That was fun to go to! Bryce has never gone to a game with me because he doesn't want to sit in the student section. Dr. Young gave me his 2 tickets because he wasn't able to go so Bryce agreed to go! We had lots of fun! Chelsey also took our pictures! She did such a good job and we re-did our best friend picture!

Best Friends!

I just downloaded the blogger app so I hope I can blog more throughout the months! I like having this as a journal but blogging 3 times a year just isn't enough! Until next time...

Jordyn Clark, MA

I'm official! I have graduated from school for Medical Assisting. I have a job at an OB/GYN office that I did my externship at! I am so grateful for the love and support of my friends at school for making classes fun, great teachers who made learning fun, easy, and enjoyable. I'm grateful for my husband who supported me through it all. I couldn't have done it without him.

For graduation, John Bytheway was our speaker. It was cool to see and hear him in person, especially after growing up listening to his church talks. My sister in law Taylor came to the graduation, along with my aunt Wendy and cousins, Bradley and Alison. I'm glad they could come. Afterwards, we went to eat at Olive Garden.

I am happy with where I am in life and I'm excited for the future and to see what is in store!
Also, after dinner, we went to Taylor's apartment because got her mission call! She is going to Belem, Brazil! She will learn Portuguese! She reports in June! She is going to be a great missionary and I am so excited for her. (and scared). :)

Here's to 2013!

Happy New Years!
I am very excited for this year to begin! 2012 was good, but I am excited for 2013! A few good things that happened last year were:

  • I started school! Best decision I made!
  • Bryce started working at Eddie Robinson's Fly Shop and has been doing great. He loves his job and enjoys learning new ways to make money for the shop. He is also in charge of Guide Trips and has grown that part of the business a lot within this last summer!
  • We moved into a bigger apartment! It has been great to have an extra room for storage and to have a room for guests! We had a lot of guests this summer, starting with Kaylie, my family, Bryce's family, and Granny and Glenn!
  • In August, I was able to go to San Diego to visit the family!
  • We had the chance to go to Bellingham, Wa to visit Bryce's family for Thanksgiving!
  • We had our own little Christmas!
  • I turned 23!
  • I got an awesome externship at the Central Utah Clinic's Women Center. I have been there for about 3 weeks now and it is so fun! On Christmas Eve, we had a half day of work and I did everything by myself! (With minimal questions!) I am doing great and really hope I get the job there! (My teacher said that they already hired me, but haven't offered me the position yet, so I'm just waiting!)
  • I also left my job at Linx. I have been there for 4 years. It has been a great learning experience. and has given me a lot of opportunities. I am grateful for them but am glad to be moving on to a job that involves my education!
2012 has been good to us but I am excited for 2013! As of now, our plans are to: Get a job at the clinic, Bryce continues his work and hopefully gets a raise at the shop ;), pay off some debt, buy a new couch, visit family more, save our money, lose some weight, buy me a car! and start looking into getting a little house! We also don't see a baby coming for us this year...at least not yet :)

We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Medical Assisting

I don't know who reads this blog but this is mainly for journaling purposes. As you might know I am in school for Medical Assisting. I started in March and the last day of class is December 18th. It has flown by. When I was deciding to do this program I didn't know if I would like it. I was never interested in the medical field. I gave it a try and I love it. I find the human body fascinating and I am excited to do what I have been trained to do. Anyways, at the end of the course you are required to complete 180 hours of an unpaid externship with a doctor. 2 weeks ago I got an email from a lady at my school who helps find externships for students. She said that my teacher requested me directly (and a few other students) for this externship at a Women's Clinic and to send her my resume as soon as I could. I was so excited! I sent it on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. Then on Monday I got an email from the clinic! She was interested in setting up an interview and was looking to hire the externships after they complete the hours. This was exactly what I wanted. We set up an interview for the next day. My teachers were super excited for me and told me that I had this. I did a practice interview and I was prepared. I went to my interview, and was asked a few questions like "Why did you want to become an MA? What is your favorite class and your least favorite class?" So Simple. (I was interviewed with 3 people from the clinic). They were talking about what I would need to do to get the externship process started. I took this as a good sign. They then said that we will call you tomorrow and let you know what we decided.

After I left, I called my mom and started telling her about the interview. 7 minutes later I got a phone call...I answered it and it was the clinic. They said, "Hi Jordyn, this is *so&so* from the clinic, and we want you. We decided that we didn't want to wait till tomorrow to let you know." I was sooo happy and excited! I then called my mom back and said, there is no point in telling you about the interview anymore because I got the externship. I got an email later that day saying they were excited for me to work with them and that I will do very well.

I am so grateful for this opportunity. My school is very excited for me because I am working under a great lady that everyone loves. I am done with all the paperwork and now I am just waiting to start. I am starting on December 19th. The day after classes. My teacher thinks that I will be offered the position before January 1st. That is my goal! I'm thankful for the support from Bryce and my family. I love that they called to talk to me about it and are excited for me!

On a side note, I am in a class that helps you make your resume. I got it all made and it was amazing. When I emailed the clinic my resume I accidentally sent them the wrong one. The one I sent was when I was applying for Texas Roadhouse. I am glad that even though they saw my not so good resume they still wanted to interview me!

Thanksgiving 2012

This Thanksgiving Bryce and I were able to go up to Bellingham to visit his family. It was a really fun trip! We ate at different restaurants that Bryce loves to go to and different stores with man stuff in it. The girls took a day trip to Seattle while Bryce and his dad went fishing. Taylor, Holley and I had another girls day where we went to lunch and to see Breaking Dawn. It was a really fun trip and although I was FREEZING TO THE BONE for the whole week we are grateful we were able to go up.

I am grateful for everything in my life right now. I am truly blessed. I am excited for this Christmas season and the new year ahead. I have some exciting news! (no, we're not pregnant).

Poem's.

I have never really been into poems. Except for Shel Silverstein's "Where the sidewalk ends". My mom and I have recently become masters of poems. We are counting our calories together and for moral support she sent me a poem one day. Then I sent her one. They are pretty funny. We now send each other 1 poem a day. Sometimes 2 because we are so clever. Our reward is to go to Disney Land together if we lose enough. I want to always remember them so I am going to blog about them. If you ever need some weight loss courage, these poems are sure to help you melt the pounds away.

Poems from my Mom:
Stay on your diet today,
So the pounds will melt away,
So you can come and stay,
With me at Disney.

You can do it
You can lose it
If you want too...
(some poems are better then others)

4th day of dieting
you're doing good
Keeping on tracking
like you know you should.
Losing the weight,
You're sure to win.
Because when you see Mickey
You want to be thin.

Our first dieting weekend
is drawing near,
Being good on the weekend,
Is hard I fear.
But counting and planning,
It can be done
It is worth the hard time
because Disney is fun!

I'm doing good
I'm doing swell
But not eating this candy
Sucks like hell!

Poems from Me:
Today is Wednesday,
Our third day!
Let's keep it up,
So we can see,
Each other at Disney

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I want to go to Disney,
And so do you!

Disney will come,
It will soon be near,
I will make sure I lose,
So I won't be here.
I will be skinny,
So I can see Minnie!

Drop the weight fast
So we can have a nice ass. :)

I'll have to say, dieting is great.
The fun we'll have with our loss of weight
Disney is the place to be,
Skinny and happy with little Jorgie
   **poem by Stephanie

As I lay hear in bed,
I feel thin
Although it's only been a week
We'll be sure to win!
Tell dad to buy my ticket
Because I'll be on my way
I can't wait to celebrate this happy day!

Roses are red
Grass is green.
I want to be skinny,
If you know what I mean.

2 more days
Until we weigh
We hope the pounds drop so we can look hot!
Eating is fun,
But can give you a saggy bum.

I've been wearing sweats,
two days in a row.
I want to wear my jeans,
But my chub still overflows.
After working hard,
It will soon be gone.
Then we can use dads money at disney,
ALL DAY LONG!

As you can see the poems started out pretty simple and now they are funnier and longer. Hope you enjoy! More poems to come!
